Protecting devices and cables in hierarchical load networks requires precise coordination of the protective elements in use. This ensures that safety ranges do not overlap or have gaps, but provide selective protection.
Overload protection at nominal operation and short circuit protection must be observed. Important influencing factors are e.g. the type of network (generator/power supply/battery) and the used wiring.
With this Excel table calculation, you can check an individual DC 24 V circuit (with two load branches) for its tripping conditions.
